The Fort Seward Interpretive Center depicts the history of the fort's short life, from June until September of 1877, through a scale model of the fort and artifacts that have been found during archaeological digs held at the site since 1999. Located in Jamestown, the site is a mile due west of Jamestown College, and hosts an annual living history presentation by the 20th Infantry Reenactment Company every September. Fort Seward served as protection to over 500 workers who were building the Northern Pacific railroad, when the fort was no longer needed it was dismantled and transported 81 miles to Fort Totten.
